Operation: The SPOT-FEN-X beacon incorporates a microcontroller whose software provides several very simple operating modes: Day/Night beacon mode, timed activation and deactivation by laser beam, intermittent flash mode (fixed number and duration) if the beacon is activated by a laser and not subsequently deactivated. The beacon also has a low battery detection feature. Once deactivated using a violet laser pointer, it becomes insensitive to lightning during thunderstorms, moonlight reflecting off water, or any other light source. It therefore allows for absolute discretion for anglers who do not wish to be spotted at night.
