Due to its capabilities, this is a
rod perfectly suited for dry fly and sight fishing
. The casting speed and accuracy of the Helios 3 allow you to target a moving fish in a minimum number of casts. When facing wary fish that offer little chance, making the right cast on the first try is a real advantage, and that's precisely why theHelios 3D
was designed. The feel of this rod is very surprising when you first pick it up. The balance is perfect, the action facilitates casting while minimizing vibrations, ensuring perfect line control. Because in fly fishing, success sometimes hinges on mere centimeters, theHelios 3D 9' 5-weight
can delicately present a sulfur imitation in line with a rising grayling or cast a streamer close to an obstacle to entice a hunting brown trout. Compared to the Helios 2 generation, the new manufacturing processes and materials used offer 17% greater torsional strength, 40% increased blank deformation resistance, and 77% greater impact resistance. While being stronger, the Helios 3 also feels lighter in hand and during casting. In the world of fly fishing, theOrvis Helios
rods have all marked a turning point in terms of technicality and performance. Lighter and more robust than ever, the 3rd generation of Helios rods is the result of five years of research and development. More than 60 combinations of different types of carbon graphite and resins were tested. But the work wasn't limited to materials. The manufacturing methods have significantly reduced horizontal vibrations and vertical oscillations of the rod tip during the cast, which negatively impact casting accuracy and distance. FEATURES:
