An evolution of the original X-Layer, the
Super X-Layer
version is made of a more reactive and durable plastic. Its attractant is incorporated directly into the lure's body. This very supple and flavoredMegabass
lure can be weighted at the head or maintain neutral buoyancy in mid-water. Designed to resemble a sea worm, a shrimp, and a sand eel, it is considered "deadly for bass" by many anglers. It has several distinctive features which, taken individually, are not particularly original, but together they give it unparalleled appeal: this lure can be rigged in all sorts of classic or original ways: with a rigid heavy-headed hook, a single articulated hook on a lead weight, a through hook, Texas rigs, drop shot or Drachko rigs, etc. The flat side can be oriented downwards or upwards, but the official rigging is with the flat side facing upwards and the grooves downwards, oriented like diving lips, which also creates a slight diving effect. Conversely, placing the flat side underneath with the grooves in an upward position will tend to make it rise to the surface and even perform a water skiing action on the flat side, just like a surface lure if the rod is held high. With its jerky, slightly erratic retrieve, this very supple and elastic lure uses the edges of its flat side and its grooves to grip the water. This produces unpredictable and wide lateral movements (approximately 50 cm on either side of the main line of pull). Rigged on a jig head and worked with successive rod tip twitches, thissoft lure for sea bass fishing
perfectly mimics the fleeting swimming action of a small fish. It is also very effective as a soft lure for pollack or cod fishing... It is also widely used in the Netherlands for vertical jigging for zander, where it demonstrates its full effectiveness when rigged on a jig head and worked with small wrist twitches followed by long pauses. Features: Length: 10.5cm Weight: 6g Incredible flexibility and swimming action Highly attractive in water
