A third bite variant is the breakaway: In this case, the rod, bent under the tension of the line, suddenly snaps back. This is indicated by the CATSOUNDER with a "breakaway alert" signal. To ensure the angler is properly warned of this important event, the "breakaway alert" signal is produced for about ten seconds. ATTACHING THE CATSOUNDER TO THE ROD: The CATSOUNDER's unique attachment system poses no risk to the rod's finish; attaching or removing the CATSOUNDER from the rod is child's play. Its attachment system is resistant to UV aging, and thanks to the anti-slip pads on the back of the detector, it won't slip on the blank. DURABILITY AND WATERPROOFING: Naturally, the CATSOUNDER is 100% waterproof; it easily withstands prolonged immersion thanks to CARPSOUNDER's waterproofing technology. Its "clean-design" housing made of fiberglass-reinforced polyamide is virtually indestructible.
