Tungsten is a very dense metal, weighing almost twice as much as brass. The
gold tungsten nymph bodies
from JMC PG are shaped to fit curved hooks. A groove is provided for easy insertion onto the hook. It is sometimes necessary to apply a small amount of strong glue to the hook shank before starting to tie the nymph with 8/0 or 6/0 line. During tying, the body can be covered with tying thread, fine synthetic materials, or dubbing. The head can be left exposed to add a very attractive touch of gold. The grooves on the gold-plated PG JMC bodies facilitate thread wrapping. The effectiveness of nymphs tied with tungsten bodies is undeniable! Used by most nymphing specialists, both with a tight line and sight fishing, these nymphs sink very quickly in fast currents, allowing you to target fish holding near the bottom.
